Physical Therapy

Initially when Texas Sports Medicine opened its doors in 1983, physical therapy was the primary focus. Sports Medicine is based on accelerated rehabilitation and physical therapy and remains an integral component of the center. Our professional, enthusiastic, highly motivated, staff provide excellent care to our patients.

Rehabilitation programs include but are not limited to:

  • Sports related injuries
  • Back and neck injuries
  • Knee reconstruction and surgeries
  • Shoulder surgeries and injuries
  • Total joint replacements
  • Ankle and foot injuries
  • Workman's compensation

The center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which is used to facilitate the highest level of reconditioning in an optimal amount of time. Restoration of flexibility, strength, power, endurance and biomechanical function is achieved through the application of:

  • Accelerated rehabilitation protocols
  • Isokinetic assessment
  • Aquatic therapy
  • Manual therapy
  • Treatment modalities and exercise equipment
  • Orthotic and brace fabrication
  • Home programs
  • Patient and family education
  • Referral to the center's fitness program upon discharge

The staff's program objectives for its patients are to:

  • Establish individualized rehabilitation programs
  • Perform comprehensive musculo-skeletal evaluations
  • Develop plans of action which maximizes functional restoration
  • Encourage self-reliance
  • Expedite early return to activity

Texas Sports Medicine Center accepts patients who present a valid prescription (order) from a physician for physical therapy and whose age classification ranges from adolescent to senior adult. To speed up the registration process on your first visit to Texas Sports Medicine Center, please come with these orientation forms completed. If you would like one of our TSMC staff to help you fill out the information, we will provide the packet and help you complete the packet on your first visit to TSMC. Monday through Friday: 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.—Last appointment at 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.—Last appointment at 11:30 a.m.

Texas Sports Medicine Center is a department of Tomball Regional Medical Center, and is NOT owned by any physician or physician group. The only special interest our staff has is to provide quality physical therapy to our patients.
